Design Weavers

Warli is an Italian company founded in 1998 from an idea by the designer Paolo Zani: to produce contemporary design rugs using manufacturing processes carried out strictly by hand in countries with an ancient textile tradition.

Today, Warli's creations, developed in its Milan-based "laboratory of ideas," range from indoor to outdoor furnishings and accessories. Their design remains true to the brand's original values: quality materials, meticulous craftsmanship, and a consistent style. This distinctive elegance emerges from simplicity and harmony.
Warli targets individuals who value products with multiple layers of worth—style, durability, adaptability, sustainability, and customization. They are people who appreciate standing out through their informed choices. Like Warli, they are true "design weavers," who love to "weave" their daily lives with elegance and subtle understatement.

Cesena, Milan, India, and back again.

The story of designer Paolo Zani is one woven with Italian creativity, entrepreneurship, and curiosity.

Born in Cesena, after studying at the prestigious Domus Academy in Milan, Paolo began to look at the world. He collaborated with the Moroso brand, where he launched the Warli brand in 1998. These were years of new experiences and continuous experimentation, nurtured through frequent trips to India to deeply understand hand-weaving techniques and the master artisans who have used them for centuries.
Warli then became his independent company in 2010, with the vision of creating not only indoor rugs but a coherent and harmonious contemporary design across different product categories. In the "ideas workshop" of Milan, the Outdoor, Kitchen & Bath, and Furnishing Accessories divisions were thus born over the years. Market success arrived, awards were won, and both young Italian designers and established international designers joined Paolo's project. And Warli's journey is only just beginning.
