Know How
The perfect imperfection of handmade.
You need to have a deep knowledge of the different techniques of hand weaving to understand how a design born in Milan or a new idea of surface after months of work by dyers and master weavers can become, in Jaipur or Benares, a wonderful carpet that will furnish a house in Paris or a hotel in Miami. Always aware that the beauty of an object made entirely by hand also lies in its “perfect imperfection”, in that almost imperceptible diversity that makes it unique.

Raw materials
Hand Knotted
The hand-knotting technique, the type of knot and the thickness distinguish the different carpets, whose
quality increases in proportion to the number of knots that bind the yarn to the warp.
Handmade in Warli

Hand-tufted
The artisan, using a special needle tool, inserts and cuts the yarn onto a canvas on which the design has been reproduced. The yarn is then secured to the backing with natural latex derived from the rubber tree and a cotton canvas backing. This very complex manual technique allows for the creation of unique designs and irregular shapes.

Dhurries
It is a manual flat weaving technique, in which the design is given exclusively by the interweaving of the warp and weft.

Handloom
Made by hand weaving on a loom, it is a technique that allows the creation of a great variety of original patterns, not otherwise replicable on automatic looms.
